Generative AI may mean we never make another PPT and we listen to new Justin Timberlake songs 24/7…In other words, utopia!
While people have been blown away by ChatGPT, as I learned from the Mighty Ducks 2 soundtrack back in the day, you ain’t seen nothing yet!
As Generative AI applications like #ChatGPT, #StableDiffusion, #Midjourney and others continue to evolve, they will be able to move between all sorts of media e.g. images to video, text to audio, and video to data.
Their outputs will have all sorts of uses that most people have not thought about. I’ve created the image below to show where this all could go.
Can I just take a minute to fanboy about a few of these potential use cases? Here are some of my favorites:
🎵 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭: Justin Randall Timberlake only puts out a new album like once a decade. JT, we are starved! Projects like Google’s new MusicLM could eventually make new music by JT whenever you want. JT featuring 2pac please! 🙏
🎥 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝, 𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐬: Smaller communities rarely get media that represent them. Generative AI could instantly generate movies or TV series with plots and in settings they relate to. And your favorite actors can sell their likeness so you can decide who stars in your movie. Playing next: Your favorite post-apocalyptic Zambia romcom.
💻 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐏𝐓 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: OMG, could we never create a PPT again!? Generative AI could pull in your company’s data and create a presentation on a topic of your choice. You could then go in and fine tune the details.
🎙️ 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫-𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐨𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐬: I love exploring new ideas and podcasts are often where I do that. If Lex Fridman could interview Albert Einstein or if Gandhi could debate Machiavelli (not the 2pac one), I’d tune in!
Would it always be the most creative? Maybe not.
Will this affect people’s jobs? Yes, but not only in negative ways.
Regardless, it’s coming!
What exciting use cases have you heard of?
What podcast/ movies/ songs would you generate?
